Reunion Rendezvous at Bell Tower Festival

The Greene County School Foundation will be hosting an event to welcome the many class reunions to the Bell Tower Festival this year. Foundation Board member Karen Lawton is chairing the Reunion Rendezvous event. Classes planning a reunion are asked to contact Annie Ostendorf at 515-370-1397 or ostee@netins.net or Beth Vander Wilt at 515-386-2155 or info@jeffersonmatters.org to receive updates on activities.

Reunion Rendezvous will be held immediately after the parade from 12:30–4 pm on the north side of the courthouse. Large tables and chairs will be available for people to gather. Classes can have a table reserved. All are encouraged to purchase lunches from the many vendors and enjoy time downtown. Those attending could also bring lawn chairs and blankets from the parade to enjoy time with classmates and their families reminiscing and celebrating. There is no cost for this event.

Popular local musician, Taylor King will provide music during the Reunion Rendezvous with music from many eras. Greene County School Foundation Board members will be available to greet visitors and give updates on the various school buildings and offerings. The new Greene County High School at 1901 N Grimmell Road and the Greene County Middle School at 100 Ram Drive will be open for class reunions and the public on Sunday, June 13 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

The open-concept with alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages along with food offered in the downtown square was very successful when Jefferson hosted RAGBRAI in 2018 and at the last Bell Tower Festival in 2019. Families enjoyed mingling while free entertainment was presented throughout the days. Check the Bell Tower Festival or Bell Tower Festival Class Reunions Facebook pages to stay up-to-date.

With live music, good food, friends and family, the Greene County School Foundation feels the Reunion Rendezvous is sure to continue as a Bell Tower Festival tradition.
