Main Street Iowa Awards on March 8

The annual Main Street Iowa Awards event will be held on Friday, March 8 at the Scottish Rite Conservancy in Des Moines.  At this event, Jefferson’s 2018 Leadership Award will be presented to Debra McGinn for her outstanding leadership for Tower View Team, Promotion and the Board of Directors.  Jefferson will be recognized for being one of six communities hosting the HomeTown Teams Smithsonian Traveling exhibit in August – September of 2018.  Another honor for Jefferson will be achieving the $5 million benchmark of funds towards the renovation of our downtown since 2012 when Jefferson became a Main Street community.

A group of 32 volunteers with spouses are planning to attend.  Pictures will be shared following the event.

Jefferson submitted seven nominations for awards in the 13 categories but were not awarded any of these for 2018.
