Mahanay Bell Tower Poem

During the summer of 2016, residents and visitors were asked to submit their memories of the Mahanay Bell Tower.  These moments and memories were placed in large square boxes around the square.  In September, poet and Jefferson alum David Williamson led a group of 17 residents through a process of collaboration to begin creating the community poem.  The finished piece will be read by David at the 50th Anniversary Celebration on Oct. 16 in Jefferson.  Festivities begin at 2 p.m. near the Bell Tower with David as part of the program.  Copies of the poem will be available at the end of the event.  Many thanks to David Williamson for this generous gift to the community.
