JMMS Celebrates Second Anniversary

Forty volunteer enthusiasts of Jefferson Matters: Main Street gathered on Wednesday, Feb. 19, in the lower level of Sierra Community Theatre business to celebrate the organization’s second anniversary.

Volunteers, committee members and representatives of businesses in the Main Street district joined the board of directors to celebrate completion of the second year of JMMS and the official launch of its third year. The event followed the board’s Annual Meeting held in conjunction with its regular monthly meeting held in theatre’s business center prior to the anniversary celebration.

“We want to thank all of our volunteers, Board of Directors 2-19-14committee members, board members, and businesses for their support the past year,” said Jamie Daubendiek, president, JMMS board of directors. “We are looking forward to another very successful year for Jefferson Matters: Main Street.”

Guest enjoyed light refreshments, cake and beverages. The tables were decorated with special table top tents that showcased earlier versions and current-day use of historic buildings in downtown Jefferson. The table tops will be featured in the downtown restaurants, coffee shops and food establishments during the upcoming summer tourism season.

Photos of various events and activities of JMMS the past year were featured in a continuous loop.

A highlight of the gathering was a trivia quiz with questions centered on the history of downtown Jefferson. Numerous door prizes from local businesses were awarded through the event.
