Greene County Medical Center’s Senior Health Insurance Information Program Recognized for 30 Years of Service

Greene County Medical Center’s Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP), has been recognized for serving Jefferson and the surrounding communities for the last 30 years by the State of Iowa. As one of the first Medical Centers to become a SHIIP volunteer service center, Greene County Medical Center’s SHIIP program is committed to helping seniors sort through confusing information about Medicare and health insurance.

“For the past 30 years Greene County Medical Center has been committed to investing in our communities,” says Angela Wadsworth, SHIIP coordinator. “SHIIP is just one of the many ways we are able to give back to the citizens of Jefferson and the surrounding area, including you and your loved ones. SHIIP counselors help seniors navigate the complicated and confusing Medicare insurance options. Please call to schedule an appointment to see how our SHIIP counselors can help you or your loved ones.”

Greene County Medical Center is hosting a free “Welcome to Medicare” seminar. This two hour seminar offered by the Medical Center SHIIP counselors will be held Wednesday, August 18th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Greene County Medical Center education room. Registration is required by August 10, 2021. To register please call (515) 386-2114. Face masks and COVID-19 screening upon entrance are required.
