The Promotion Committee of Jefferson Matters: Main Street is planning a Cash Mob for Tuesday, September 5 at 5:30 pm. A Cash Mob is a fun way for a large group to make a financial impact on a business in the downtown in a short period of time. A Cash Mob also helps people to get acquainted with what is available locally. Those people participating in a cash mob promise to spend $20 in the business so the more people involved, the more impact it makes!
This Cash Mob is called “Stitchin’ Up September”. It will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Thomas Jefferson Gardens where light refreshments will be served by members of the committee. The “mob” will then walk together to The Stitch at 217 E Lincoln Way where Suzanne Sievers and her staff will have some ideas of items to choose at that $20 price point. Fall craft ideas and supplies, notions, gift certificates, and more will be available. All of the receipts will be put into a drawing for a gift certificate for Deal’s Orchard as they open for their fall season.
The Promotion Committee encourages people of all ages to join them as they shop local. A spokesperson exclaimed, “You can’t buy happiness, but you can buy local, and that’s kind of the same thing!”
