Signs, Snacks & Suds

The Design Committee of Jefferson Matters: Main Street is offering a free presentation on business signage entitled, “September Signs, Snacks & Suds” on Monday, September 11 at the Sierra Theater’s Business Center at 5:15 pm. All interested in viewing examples of unique, eye-catching & size-appropriate signage for businesses of all sizes are welcome to attend. Main Street Iowa Design Consultant Tim Reinders has traveled throughout Iowa and attended many national workshops on this topic. He will share ideas in a power point presentation and discussion of the do’s and don’ts of storefront signage including blade signs and posted store hours.

As we near the completion of Jefferson’s Downtown Rehabilitation effort with thirteen of our buildings, this is a timely topic as decisions for signage are made. Many other businesses may be looking for a fresh look. This is a great opportunity for gathering ideas. Local and area signage companies are especially invited to attend. Business owners throughout the community and county are also invited to attend.

This event will start at 5:15 p.m. with a social time at the Sierra Theater’s Business Center with snacks and suds provided by the Design Committee of Jefferson Matters: Main Street and Hamilton Redi-Mix. The Signage presentation will begin at 5:45 p.m. and will last about an hour. There is no RSVP needed for this event. This is one of the many Business After Hours events hosted by Jefferson Matters: Main Street.
