Historical Plaque Nominee Walk on Sept. 18

Seven nominees for historical plaques in the Jefferson downtown will be featured at this year’s Historical Plaque Nominee Walk on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 2 p.m. at the Greene County Historical Society Museum.  This event will begin and end at the Museum with refreshments and voting for the next plaque to be funded.

Jefferson Matters: Main Street received a grant from the Greene County Community Foundation to fund one more plaque at the cost of $1,600.  Those participating in the afternoon walk will vote.  Milligan Brothers Lumber, Grain & Coal will be paid for by John & Kathy Milligan of Jefferson.  The committee hopes the all plaques will eventually be funded.
