Starting Tuesday, September 28, 2021, Greene County Public Health will provide Pfizer booster doses for adults 65 years and older and individuals of specific at-risk groups. The following individuals and specific at-risk groups qualify for a booster dose:
- Individuals 65 years and older and residents in long-term care settings should receive a booster shot of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine at least 6 months after their second dose.
- Individuals aged 50–64 years with underlying medical conditions should receive a booster shot of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine at least 6 months after their second dose.
- Individuals aged 18–49 years with underlying medical conditions may receive a booster shot of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine at least 6 months after their second dose based on their individual benefits and risks.
- Individuals aged 18-64 years who are at increased risk for COVID-19 exposure and transmission because of occupational or institutional setting may receive a booster shot of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine at least 6 months after their second dose based on their individual benefits and risks.
This recommendation is for individuals who originally received the two-dose (primary) series of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine. The Pfizer booster dose is available by appointment only and starting Tuesday, September 28, 2021.
