Jefferson’s Downtown Difference Maker

Jefferson’s Building Official, Nick Sorensen, is Jefferson’s Downtown Difference Maker and was highlighted in the recent Main Street Iowa publication of the Downtown Resource. Main Street Iowa coordinator Michael Wagler wrote the article based on the many experiences he has had working with Nick on derelict buildings in Jefferson’s downtown that have turned around to successful businesses with upper story living. The City has acquired other buildings and made the commitment to continue this work.

Nick has been a leader in Jefferson Matters: Main Street and received the annual Leadership Award in 2017.
