HomeTown Teams exhibit a big hit

Over 1,300 visitors including students from Greene County Community Schools have visited the HomeTown Teams Smithsonian Institution exhibit at the Greene County Historical Museum.  Volunteers put together a great scavenger hunt that the students have enjoyed as they explore the Smithsonian exhibit and the local exhibits from Greene County communities.  Volunteer hosts have been taking 2 hour shifts to greet the visitors during the hours the exhibit is open to the public.  A group of retired and experienced teachers have been hosting the school groups from grades 2 – 12 during other hours.  All ages have enjoyed learning about and discussing the impact of sports on rural America.

There is still time to view the free exhibit as it is open until Sunday, Sept. 23.

Saturdays – 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Sundays – Noon – 6 p.m.
