In this workshop, you will discover the magic of transforming everyday book pages into artwork that speaks from the soul. Abby & Jolene have collaborated to bring you a 2 part workshop. We will be exploring black out poetry where hidden phrases are uncovered revealing your own poetic voice. Then we will use this to collage onto a canvas or journal cover using other papers and mediums. No prior experience in writing, poetry or art needed. This is a class all about freedom, discovery and joyful mess making. The cost for this class is $40 and includes all supplies. To register, use the ticket link provided. On Thursday, October 28, there will be several coordinated Halloween activities for Greene County youth. The Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department kicks off the festivities by inviting costumed children to partake in several simultaneous activities inside the Greene County Community Center from 3:45-5:00 PM. Next, children are invited to “Trick or Treat Around the Square” from 4:30-6 PM. They may start from any location and walk counterclockwise around the exterior perimeter of the square. Businesses and organizations will be handing out treats for children. If your business, church, or organization would like to hand out treats, please contact Beth at the Welcome Center at 386-2155 or email at info@jeffersonmatters.org. The next activity is the Story Walk provided by the Jefferson Public Library from 5:30-6:30 PM, to be held outside of the library. Finally, the Greene County Middle School has a concert beginning at 7:00 PM.
