Class Reunions Meet at Bell Tower Festival

The Bell Tower Festival will be held on June 11-12 in Jefferson, and this is a traditional time for class reunions to meet.  There may be even more classes since the reunions and festival were cancelled last year.  The Greene County School Foundation welcomes all of the classes and alumni back along with their families.

Annie Ostendorf will continue as the volunteer class reunion contact and invites those classes planning reunions to contact her.  Annie would like a contact name, email address, and cell along with plans that have been made for the class.  Contact Annie at 515-370-1397 or ostee@netins.net.  Beth Vander Wilt at The Welcome Center will also take information by calling 515-386-2155 during the hours of 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. or email her at info@jeffersonmatters.org   Information will be sent to these contact people about the festival for it to be shared.

An event call Reunion Rendezvous was kicked off in 2019 with great success.  The Reunion Rendezvous will be held right after the parade from 12:30 – 4 p.m. and located on the north side of the courthouse lawn. Look for tables and chairs under the shade of the trees.  Bring your own lawn chairs too!  Live music will provide a nice atmosphere to catch up with classmates and family. Teachers are welcome to stop by to visit.  Let Annie or Beth know if your class wants a table reserved.  The Greene County School Foundation will be sponsoring this event and will have local leaders available to answer questions about the school.

A wide variety of food vendors and downtown restaurants are available around the square so everyone can plan to get something to eat and drink and meet up at the Reunion Rendezvous location.   Alcoholic drinks will also be available for sale on the square after the parade and through the evening.

Many classes plan their own gathering during Saturday evening and return to the downtown for the live entertainment.  The Plaza Stage area on the south side of the courthouse will have continuous entertainment with no cover charge for the open-concept festival on both Friday and Saturday nights.

The Reunion Rendezvous committee offers a Facebook page available to anyone and will update as festival plans are finalized – Bell Tower Festival Class Reunions.    There is also a Bell Tower Festival Facebook page.
