Available Building Tours successful

Everything but the weather cooperated on the Available Building Tours on Thursday, April 25 & Saturday, April 27.  Local and out-of-town business interest was high for the various properties offered on the tour.  In fact, two properties initially on the tour were taken off with a sale pending – Ace Hardware and The Press (the former Bee & Herald).

Thanks to the over 48 volunteers who served as greeters at the eleven locations in 2 hr. shifts.  Their time was very much appreciated.  The use of the Welcome Center to register those on the tour was a perfect way to introduce people to the community.

The EntreBASH was hosted by Midwest Partnership with a variety of resources that small businesses could access available.  Local discussion on zoning, security needs and financing were on site.  A panel discussion with local business owners Bonnie Silbaugh of Fudge’s Flowers and Jen Badger of ShineOn designs and More Time was facilitated by Midwest Partnership Executive Director Sarah Gomez.  Over 40 people were in attendance at this event at the Elk’s Lodge.

Committee members who have been meeting since January to plan this event were Ken Paxton, Jamie Daubendiek, Brandon Hommer, Amanda Bills, Sarah Gomez, Nick Sorensen, Sandi Drewry, Jeanne Myers, Kathy Milligan, Jacque Andrew, Lisa Kuhl and Peg Raney.
