Annual Volunteer Appreciation Party

Jefferson Matters: Main Street appreciates the many hours our volunteers give towards the projects and events of the program. 2019 was an especially busy year!  In 2019, our volunteers reported 5,278 hours of work in planning, attending meetings, organizing, working and creating.

The annual volunteer party is a chance to recognition each of our teams with special recognition given to an individual or group who were outstanding in 2019.  The Leadership Award is also announced at this event with more recognition given on April 3 at the Main Street Iowa Awards Gala.  The Organization Team plans and hosts this event.  It will be held on Thursday, February 20 at 5:30 – 7 p.m. at The Jefferson Forge Fellowship Hall at 204 E State. Spouses and significant others of the volunteers are invited to attend!

Every volunteer hour has made a huge difference and with over 5, 278 hours recorded with the annual rate for a volunteer at $25.48, that is a savings of $134,483.44.  These hours are reported by the volunteers to Peg Raney, Executive Director and then reported to Main Street Iowa along with other improvements and changes in the Main Street District each month.
