Jefferson recognized by Governor Reynolds in Condition of the State Address

A group of Jefferson and Greene County leaders were given a shout-out at Governor Kim Reynold’s Condition of the State address on January 15.  Attending the speech and visiting with Gov. Reynolds following the speech were people involved in the Greene County School’s recent bond referendum which includes a career academy with Iowa Central Community College and also those assisting with plans to bring Pillar Technology to downtown Jefferson.

Those attending from the left were Nick Sorensen – City of Jefferson, Sid Jones – Greene County Development Corporation, Chris Deal – Pillar Technology – Jefferson and the Career Academy, Dr. Dan Kinney – Iowa Central Community College, Governor Kim Reynolds, Dr. Steve Karber – Greene County School Board, Jamie Daubendiek – Jefferson Telecom, Peg Raney – Jefferson Matters: Main Street director, Norm Fandel – Midland Power Cooperative, and Dawn Rudolph – Greene County Board of Supervisors.  Linc Kroeger of Pillar Technology also attended.  All entities were directly involved with these projects.  More conversations about the Center for Rural Revitalization and initiatives of interest to Jefferson and Greene County will continue with the Governor’s office.

Here is a clip of the Condition of the State address discussing Jefferson’s Main Street, volunteerism, attraction of Pillar Technology, and being a model for other rural communities.
