The Greene County Historical Society is presenting “How Iowa Met Baseball: The Myths, The History, The Players” with John Liepa on Sunday, March 25 at 2 p.m. at the Museum.

John brings to life some of the first players from Iowa who played a critical role in the development of the game.  He focuses on players from our area and brings his extensive collection of memorabilia and cards for viewers to see before or after his presentation.

Don’t be surprised to see Iowa’s first major Leaguer, Cal McVey of Montrose, Iowa who played for the 1869 Cincinnati Red Stockings, walk into the room!
