Thomas Jefferson Gardens Greenhouse Open House

Thomas Jefferson Gardens board members invite all to “take a peek inside our greenhouse” on Friday, June 11 from 5-7 pm. The first 100 visitors will receive a free plant started from seed in the new greenhouse.

In March of 2021 the new greenhouse was delivered to Thomas Jefferson Gardens at 201 East Lincoln Way in Jefferson after a trip from northeast Iowa where it was purchased.

The Gardens board has future plans for educational opportunities and activities for many age groups that are centered around the use of the greenhouse. “This facility provides a unique location for kids and adults to learn more about plants and growing them,” said Jean Walker, TJG head gardener.

An official grand opening and dedication will be held later in the summer when the major donor of the greenhouse is able to attend.
