No Nativity Festival, but Heart of Iowa Habitat Still Requesting Support

GO BACK

Sadly, Habitat leadership made the difficult decision to put the traditional Nativity Festival on hold due to the social distancing requirements and large group limitation imposed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2020 Greene County Nativity Festival would have been the 9th year of the fund raiser which traditionally raised over $7000 in support Habitat for Humanity and the families we serve.

So, no concert, no soup supper and no world famous pie auction but cancelling the Nativity Festival does not remove the need for affordable housing and critical home repairs in our community.  In order to ease the financial loss due to the cancelation of the Nativity Festival, Habitat will partner with area church congregations in designating Sunday, December 13 as Habitat Day.  Participating Congregations in Greene County will take a special collection during their church services in support of Habitat’s local mission to provide safe, decent, affordable housing.  Donations can also be made online by visiting https://www.heartofiowahabitat.org/donate or sent to:  Habitat for Humanity, 114 S. Chestnut St., Jefferson, IA  50129.
