The first concert of the summer series to be hosted by Thomas Jefferson Gardens of Greene County will feature two regional musicians, Michael Dowd and Von Ketelsen, on Saturday, May 28 at 3 pm. The public is invited to the Gardens at 201 E. Lincoln Way and encouraged to bring a lawn chair.
Von Ketelsen from Carroll performs songs audience know, in a fun, wholesome manner the whole family can enjoy.
He performs at coffeehouses, events and festivals with his guitar. “I have a solo acoustic guitar/vocal act, and perform a variety of songs by artists like the Eagles, Jimmy Buffett, George Strait – whatever the audience wants to hear”, Ketelsen said.
With numerous cover songs in his repertoire, Ketelsen performs the songs audiences want to hear.
Jefferson native, Michael Dowd, has been playing guitar since he was in high school and he found his father’s old guitar packed away in a closet. Coming from a very musically inclined family, Michael’s influences come from a wide array of music styles including grunge, post punk, reggae, psyche rock and a little country.
Thomas Jefferson Gardens has arranged six concerts over the summer months for the enjoyment of residents and visitors alike. Generous sponsors have made these concerts possible. For more information, go to www.tjgardens.org or to the Thomas Jefferson Gardens’ Facebook page.
