Greene County Medical Center welcomes two new providers to the Family Medicine Clinic. Julie Nielsen, ARNP, has been hired to practice Family Medicine, and Christie Burnell, ARNP, will join in practice alongside current Behavioral Health providers Heather Wilson, PMHNP-BC, and Bonnie Riphagen, LMSW. Christie Burnell, ARNP – Mental Health, is a familiar face to Greene County Medical Center working here in2009 in acute care nursing, cardiac rehabilitation, and spending time in the Medical Center’s emergency department and surgery. She is familiar with Greene County Medical Center’s values and mission of Always Here, Always Caring for our patients. She began her career as a Registered Nurse at TDCJ in Galveston, TX, after receiving her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Iowa State University. She then went on to receive her bachelor’s degree of nursing from the University of Texas and then received her Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification from Walden University. She has worked in many rural hospitals in the area throughout her career such as, Mary Greeley Medical Center, St. Anthony Regional Medical Center and Greene County Medical Center. Christie will begin her services at Greene County Family Medicine Clinic in mid-September and will be providing services such as counseling, diagnosis, evaluation and assessment, plan of care, treatment development, collaboration with health care team and medication management. Her services will include treatment for, ADHD, anxiety, behavior difficulties, bipolar disorder, depression, family problems, grief, mental health evaluations, personality disorder, PTSD, relationship problems, stress, substance abuse, among others. Julie Nielsen, ARNP, began her career working as a licensed vocational nurse Med Surg at Lompoc Hospital District while also receiving her associate’s degree in nursing from the University of the State of New York. She then went on to be Assistant Director of Nursing at Salem Lutheran Homes and House Supervisor at Cass County Memorial Hospital before receiving her master’s degree in nursing from Excelsior College and her FNP-C from Bradley University.
