Mark Wall Named Greene County Medical Center Chief Financial Officer

The Greene County Medical Center leadership team is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Wall as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Greene County Medical Center, effective February 28, 2022. Wall comes from MercyOne Waterloo, Iowa, where he served as a Clinic Director leading three urgent care locations, occupational medicine and pediatric clinics. He provided business leadership for the clinics, including managing daily operations, financials, budgeting and staffing. Prior to his position as Clinic Director, Wall served as the Clinic Controller at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare in Waterloo, which is part of the MercyOne system. Wall was responsible for the annual budget, managed payroll, and the overall finances for the clinic. His responsibilities also included working with 150 providers regarding compensation, recruitment, physician practice development and education. Wall brings a wealth of clinic and finance experience, along with leading processes and change. He led the addition of an urgent care rural location for MercyOne, expanded urgent care hours, introduced online scheduling and worked with his team members to add service lines including occupational medicine and pediatrics. “Mark’s 17 years of health care finance, relationship management and leadership experience will be valuable for Greene County Medical Center. He played a vital role serving physicians and ultimately patients in the Waterloo area. We look forward to having his clinical knowledge, along with his financial expertise, as we continue to serve our patients for the next generations to come,” stated Chad Butterfield, Greene County Medical Center CEO. Wall began his career at Kraft Foods in Madison, WI as their senior financial analyst prior to careers in the healthcare sector. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management with a Finance emphasis from Central College in Pella, Iowa. He continued his education at the Henry B. Tippie School of Management, University of Iowa, obtaining a Master’s in Business Administration with a finance concentration. Mark is originally from Rock Rapids, Iowa.
